Silverton teen charged with stealing Marion County traffic vehicle

By Kimberly A.C. Wilson, The Oregonian

An Oregon State Police trooper got a surprise when he pulled alongside a parked Marion County Sheriff’s Office traffic vehicle, which another driver had earlier complained was navigating recklessly along Highway 214 on Saturday night.

Instead of a deputy, Trooper Jason Perrizo found an 18-year old Silverton teenager passed out in what was later determined to be a stolen patrol car north of Mt. Angel.

It was  just after 11:20 p.m. when the trooper was driving on Highway 214 near Bonney Road when he spotted the Ford Mustang with Nikita N. Efimov allegedly behind the wheel.

Oregon State Police, Nikita N. Efimov, 18, of Silverton

Police arrested Efimov on suspicion of stealing the patrol car from outside an off-duty deputy’s Silverton-area home. He was lodged in the Marion County Jail on the charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person.

It is not really nice if you are going to drive under the influence of alcohol or even drugs. Drugs and alcohol will distort our perception. Police officers must also be responsible for their patrol car. By the way, because China has the largest automobile market in the world, yet their person to automobile ratio is only 1 automobile to each and every 20.8 individuals. Their solution is to increase the small vehicle tax in hopes of less individuals being willing to buy a car.

Bad Tuna,

hmmm well I am not going to bother going back and forth with you on this. And that’s great that you took the time and picked up a history book and took short history lesson and thought of us. Well I am close to the old believers as i am an old believer. And not everything that you read is true so sorry to sadden you but the history book that you picked up was fictional. And there could have been some truth to it but not all of it.

Compare to hearing it straight from the people that had lived through it.

hmm and it sounds like you have an issue with russians. And that’s to bad cause not all are bad and you do sound ignorant by making the comments that you did.

by the way nice name you picked for yourself im sure the smell matches perfectly.

XOXO

@Happy Dreamer

Did you ever stop to think you came off more ignorant than anyone else posting here? Nowhere did Joe say he was unemployed, and you have no idea what he may or may bot be doing to curb illegal immigration.

Its obvious that you have some knowledge about the Russian Orthodox here in America, but you seem to have a lot of misinformation as well. Most Russian Orthodox were basically driven from their country not because of religion as much as because they were nomads, living off the land and not contributing to the good of the nation, you know, communisim? Most were objectors to the war and thought to be cowards. They were gypsies, often stealing or squatting and thought of by many other Russians to be a drain. Many fled to Siberia, then China, then South America others fled Through Turkey, then New York.

The Russian Orthodox here in Oregon are not immune from being accused of taking advantage of the system. They usually marry in their religion only, since most dont get a marriage license, the women with children qualify for a full compliment of social programs, and the husbands are usually self employed, often working under the table. If you think Im bashing this group, visit any grocery store in Woodburn at the first of the month, watch the number of Oregon trail cards and WIC coupons used, not to mention the carts full of groceries brought out to the newer Lexus and other luxury SUV’s. By no means am I painting them all with this brush, but it does apply to more than not.

Dreamer, before you start talking history and laziness, you better know your facts.

First off let me say that yes I believe what he did was very wrong and do not support it in any way.

However Bad Tuna, before you accuse someone of having inaccurate information, you must have accurate information yourself. The Russian Old Orthodox here in Oregon did not descend from the gypsies, nomads, and communist protestors. Communism was endorsed in Russia at about 1917. The ancestors of the Old Believer community seperated from their church in the mid 1600s. They fled the country because they did not support the church reforms that were made but the state church decided to persecute and arrest anyone who denied the new reforms. Some sat in jail rather than accept the reforms. The archpriest of the Old Believers was later then executed to quiet the protestors. So the remaining Old Believers fled to neighboring countries such as China to freely practice their religion. And over the years eventually made it to the U.S.

That is the history behind the Russian Old Orthodox religion. Not communism, gypsies, and nomads. So please know what YOU are talking about before accusing someone else of inaccuracies.

to Joe

Ok so where shall I start. I do believe he is a second generation and was born in America there for he is an American. His religion is Russian

orthodox old believers. So religion has nothing to do with being an immigrant. His grandparents fought for their live to practice their religion and fled from Russia to China. Some from Turkey to south America. As you can tell they traveled far and beyond their means to better their lives. Lazy I think not. And you can check on a map to see how far that is, you know a big paper that has some colors on it, with states and countries, oh sorry little boxes with names on it 😉

Well if your a$$ wasn’t so lazy maybe you wouldn’t be one of the many unemployed US citizens. Isn’t it sad that there are people in this world that have it so hard that they have to leave their own country to find a fair place to live and would do anything for work? And yet there

are ignorant lazy people like you that sit around judging people. Yes it

is very true that there are many illegal immigrants of all sorts of cultures

here that are abusing the system and should be shunned for what they

are doing. Sad to say but you sound like you would fit in that filthy pool just fine. So the next time you decide you want to make belligerent

comments about immigrants get off you’re lazy a$$ and do something about it.

XOXO

Funny thing, these Russian kids, many under aged were drinking beer and partying leaving more than a pickup load of garbage and nearly $100 worth of bottles and cans over their Easter week. I called the police several times and wanted to press charges for trespassing, but the deputys refused. Last Tuesday there were between 80-100 kids out there and the dead end road with 4 houses on it was so packed with cars I couldn’t get to my house. Quite ironic that a few days later a drunk Russian is found behind the wheel of a stolen police car on my road. What if this kid had killed someone in that police car or had stolen weapons from the trunk? All this could have bben avoided if the Marion County deputies had not been so lazy in not wanting to do paperwork on all these kids. Great to see my tax dollars at work!

First of all we came to America to practice our religion freely like most of the people who came to this country but unlike most immigrants we got out citizenships, we are Americans. We pay our taxes just like you do, we drive cars with insurance just like you do. We pay outrageous prices for health care just like you do. We too are tired of immigrants taking our healthcare and using our tax dollars just like you. Get your facts straight before insulting the old believer community.

In small towns, police officers are often on call so they take their vehicles home so they can respond faster when they need to. Not to mention that having a police vehicle parked in the neighborhood does tend to reduce crime in the area — usually.

I agree — this was one dumb kid.

The consequences of chain migration I’m sure. We are a nation of immigrants, but we have enough unemployed US citizens. Stop the immgration regardless of if they are from a white, black, or brown country. How many construction workers could be working now if it wasn’t for all the immigrants who came in (legally and illegally) in the last decade?

Chain immigration? Excuse me but «Americans» pull stunts like this all the time. I’m not defending him, because what he did was wrong. But he is American, born and raised. So are his parents. And probably his grandparents. He just follows the Russian Old Believer religion, doesn’t mean he’s an ‘immigrant’…. I’m definitely not for illegal immigrants but stupid people that blame ALL crime on it are just pathetic.

Ok Billy, tell me what personal use this Officer or any Officer used their vehicle for? I mean you obviously saw them…right? Also I would like to know why an Officer would need to take their car home.

I know, let’s see if you do.

this is why our tax dollars should not be going home with the officers after their shifts. do we really realize how much money gets spent every year just for them to use public service vehicals for their personal taxi’s but that is ok just raise taxes and make us feel like we owe them.

He’s wearing a traditional Russian Old Believer shirt… It’s for church. Men are supposed to wear it all the time but since traditions change they mostly wear it on big holidays.. The whole week was Easter so hence why he’s wearing it on Saturday night when he’s being an idiot.
